Shawn is a farmer, butcher, and businessman who graduated from Michigan State University with a Marketing degree specializing in Food Systems management. Shawn started Crunchy Mama Farms with his wife Amy in 2016. When their event business was shut down in 2020 due to Covid-19, Shawn saw how badly the food system was affected and he went to work at a USDA-inspected slaughter facility. Shawn began teaching homestead harvest beef, hog, and poultry classes on his farm in January 2022.
