Raynise and TaRay Kelly are the co-owners of Soil Sisters, a plant nursery that specializes in heirloom and organic vegetable, herb, and beneficial flower seedlings in Pittsburgh, Pa. While on a mission to fight food apartheid, they host farm-to-table workshops for adults and a horticultural based camp for kids.
Raynise Kelly is a Bidwell Alumni who works at Grow Pittsburgh and sits on various boards such as Pasa and Hilltop Urban Farms. She’s also a member of the Black Urban Gardeners, PA Farmers Union, Western PA Young Farmers Coalition, and recently taken a seat on the working committee of Pittsburgh Food Policy Council.
TaRay Kelly has worked for the University of Pittsburgh for over the past decade; becoming a board member of Grow Pittsburgh and a member of The PA Farmer’s Union as well the Black Urban Gardeners.Raynise is speaking in Pennsylvania.
