Alpacas The green livestock

Learn about raising alpacas, the "green" livestock. These animals are perfect for small acreages or as additional livestock on a farm. Patty Hasselbring addresses the characteristics of alpacas that make them ideal, as well as their habits, space requirements, and more. The sustainable end product: fiber that creates exceptional yarn that requires no harsh chemicals to clean (in a range of natural colors that offer variety without dyes, if you choose). The animals have generally docile personalities, which make them perfect for agritourism, educational events, and even therapy. If you are interested in exploring alternative livestock, don't overlook alpacas!
