Jon Alden

Hoover's Hatchery

Jonathan Alden is the breeder flock manager at Hoover’s Hatchery in Rudd, Iowa. He has a degree in poultry science from the University of Arkansas. While attending the university, he helped manage its heritage breed program on the research farm, and he was one of the “Bird Brains” who assisted the Heritage Poultry Conservancy and P. Allen Smith in promoting and conserving heritage breeds of poultry and waterfowl. At Hoover’s, he manages the chicken breeder program and helps with locating new breeds and strains (along with educating customers).

Jon will be speaking at the Texas and Pennsylvania Fairs.
