SHORT: John has been applying permaculture to farming, education, and building for over 30 years and began homesteading in 1999. He has a passion for sharing his knowledge to expand awareness and inspiration of unique and pragmatic applications for water systems, remediation, and regeneration of native ecosystems. He works at Living Web farms as a lead farmer developing regenerative farming practices.
Long: John has been applying permaculture to farming, education, and building for over 30 years and began homesteading in 1999. He has a passion for sharing his knowledge to expand awareness and inspiration of unique and pragmatic applications for water systems, remediation, and regeneration of native ecosystems. In 2013 he started Stone & Spade, LLC to help meet the needs of permaculture and Earthworks in Western North Carolina. Since Stone & Spade’s inception, he has worked on many water harvesting projects in WNC. He is an innovator of farm systems and farm hacks and works at Living Web farms as a lead farmer researching and developing regenerative farming practices.
