Extended Installing an Off Grid Solar Power System

This hands-on class is ideal for those planning to live off-grid, anyone wanting to install their own battery power system, and preppers wanting electrical power long after the grid goes down or following an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) event. Jeffrey Yago provides attendees hands-on instruction using name-brand solar inverters, charge controllers, and batteries. Attendees learn basic D.C. wiring as well as wiring safety for solar arrays and battery banks. While some basic knowledge of electrical terms and hand tools is helpful, this introductory solar class is limited to working with low-voltage D.C. power systems and appliances. Participants also receive a copy of Yago's Lights On book. Note: An extra pass is required for this workshop. Space is limited, get your passes today

Emergency Power Long After the Grid and Your Generator Have Failed

During a true grid down event, you don't have to spend thousands of dollars for a roof covered with solar modules and huge battery banks to power lights, refrigerators, household appliances, power tools, medical equipment, communication radios, cell phones, water pumps, CD and DVD players, flat-screen televisions, laptops and tablets, printers, security systems, and recreational vehicles. Jeffrey Yago's presentation follows along with each chapter from his book Lights On, including discussions of today's grid reliability, threats, and simple EMP protection of valuable electronics.
