Join herbalist Nicole Telkes, who has more than 20 years of experience making, using, and teaching others to make herbal medicine as first aid. This series of workshops may be taken individually or together, and participants go home with three remedies for home first aid that can treat many different health complaints. Nicole covers how to use the remedies, safety considerations, and tips and tricks to make your remedies extra potent. Just think: You can prevent and treat more than 20 different heath issues with just three remedies, and many of the ingredients come from your kitchen and backyard. In the first workshop, join Nicole as she guides you through making fire cider. Fire cider is a traditional, vinegar-based herbal remedy used most commonly when dealing with respiratory infections, but it has a dozens of other uses.

Next, Nicole shows you how to prepare your own bitters. Bitters are a traditional remedy for digestive issues, but they have dozens of other uses (including breaking up fats in the body and stabilizing blood sugar).

Finally, Nicole leads you in creating your own green salve. This traditional herbal remedy provides topical wound care.
